A well-known car industry supplier with several production sites in Europe had at one of his locations a long prevailing and unresolved problem in the treating of die-casting emulsion. On the part of community there were very restrictive prescriptive limits concerned in regard to the allowed COD loads or respectively the degradability of the intended to be discharged water.

Having already successfully installed an evaporator plant elsewhere with this company, LOFT carried out extensive evaporation tests with their pilot plant on this site as depicted in film. Beforehand, several previous test attempts using other technologies had been to no avail.

According to the test results and service experience with the pilot plant it was evident that LOFT could master the required with a skilfully processing design principle and sturdy Destimat-evaporation technique. Hence, the customer decided to install two DESTIMAT LE 1200 evaporators with a true capacity of a minimum of 1200 litres per hour respectively.

Based on existing storage tanks, the concept was entirely laid-out, planned, and carried out by LOFT. A part of the concept is an intelligent Tank Management System in which contained wax particles are specifically decanted after a first pre-concentration with the evaporator. Thereupon, the wax can be disposed off along with the evaporator’s concentrate and the recovered distillate is of excellent quality which can be alternatively led back to the production or even discharged.

Since the customer previously had to dispose of the entire amount of waste water externally, the overall investment had a very high cost-effectiveness; the payback period was significantly lesser than 2 years.

We are pleased to have given you with the trailer a little insight into the running of this plant and are on enquiry at your disposal for any more case-related information.
