LOFT Vacuum Evaporators for More Environmental Protection

Today economical yet ecologically friendly wastewater processing is in ever-increasing demand. Our Destimat® Low Energy evaporator technology provides clear proof that quality, economy and ecology are compatible and attainable in a wide variety of applications, offering users:

  • Evaporation with lower energy consumption
  • Reduced need for fresh water replenishment
  • Substantially reduced wastewater volume
  • Compliance with sewer disposal threshold concentrations without need for costly certification processes.

The distillate from the process can be recycled back to production as its quality normally satisfies deionized water specifications. As a result you save up to 98 % of your process water replenishment costs. Along with saving money, this also helps conserve natural resources.

The high purity of the distillate makes it a much better carrier for cleaning agents, making them more effective than in normal industrial grade water. As a result you can save up to 50 % of your cleaning agent use.

Wastewater treatment by evaporation does not require use of chemical agents or additives. Only small amounts of cleaning agents are required on occasion to clean the evaporator.

Additional environmental and cost benefits are provided by elimination of the need for transport to a remote treatment site.

The Klimasol Environmental Award

The „Overfladedage 09“ trade fair in Denmark marked the first presentation of the “Klimasol“ (translation: “climate sun”) environmental award to four different companies. The selection was made by an independent commission. The award is sponsored by a number of institutions including the Danish Ministry for Climate and Energy, Minister Mrs. Connie Hedegaard and well-known Danish industrial companies.

The focus of the award is the beneficial environmental impact of the products and solutions offered. LOFT water treatment systems were among the award winners so recognized.

Candidates for the award must fulfil the following criteria:

  • The product offered must be designed to provide substantially reduced CO2 emissions as compared to conventional products. The reduction in CO2 emissions achieved must be at least 20 %.
  • The product must be verifiably manufactured by climate-friendly procedures. This includes products which are easily reused, made of recycled raw materials and/or are the basis for an innovative production process with substantially reduced CO2 emissions.
